piering into the water

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
the original plan was to get a relaxing ferry ride with my dad round singapore. so we went to clifford pier, the place being very nostalgic to him. apparently each tix cost 40 dollars with dinner, and we didn want that. dunno whether food halal not. alternatively, theres a bumboat ride for 2 for 14 dollars... but it was raining, see... so my dad was against it..

he used to work in big big ships before, ever since he was 21.. travelled the world and obviously enjoyed himself tremendously.. i would like that too..

like me, he has always enjoyed the sea, but unlike me, he hasnt been near singapore waters for over a decade. last weekend, i finally, finally accompanied him out to see the sea *no pun intended*.. kesian punye pasal...

apparently, he wasnt too happy at what he saw.. he kept on shaking his head bout how much of the land is being reclaimed recently and the place isnt the same anymore. cant see much water for miles anymore. even walking along esplanade isnt tempting... he told me bout how he used to be able to see the laut for miles and miles, but now theres trees and land blocking...

heh... my dad...
