i know nuts about wedding preparations. i do know of the list of things that i need to take care of, but other than that i have no reference point to kickstart recce-ing for the services.

i tried asking around of cos, thats the least i can do (and indeed, that is just about all i did..) but it surely didnt help that just like myself, none of my good friends are married or have close friends who have been married so........ yah.

i am gonna be my own wedding planner and i better not screw this up.

i googled a thousand variation of keywords search for wedding services in singapore but that only proved as fruitless as a vegetable. following a tip-off, we went to the wedding exhibition at expo. thats a start, not much.... but its the strand of hair to hang on to on an overhanging cliff.

orientation has started. what began as a harmless lunch with new-found friends turned into a full-blown 3-hour bitch-about-a-bitch (where i found out that the world is indeed small and very round, despite my astigmatism) and a wedding preparation crash course galore. woohoo! very helpful, they all. they passed me website addresses, they gave me quotations, they listed down raves and reviews of the already-wedded, they told me what to expect from the wedding preparatory course (which is actually shorter than i could possibly imagine and without which, we cant get married), they even advised me on which tok kadi to book and which to stay a 2-km radius away from (we can actually choose tok kadi! i sure as hell didnt know that!)
even tok kadi got many patterns one, hokay? depending on your preference, there are those yang banyak songeh (selamat la kau), those charismatic ones who puts you at ease, those long-winded ones and those lets-get-over-and-done-with kinds: you get the drift.

so the very the exciting, i tell you.

nb: tok kadi is the man who would marry you off, an equivalent of a priest in the christian context.
