apple crumble

nb: the original recipe calls for 1:1:1:1 ratio of self-raising flour, plain flour, butter and sugar.
i reduced the sugar and butter, to my whims and fancies. just cos i don't like my crumble to be sickeningly sweet. and i thought the dough looks fine halfway so i stopped adding butter. the cinnamon, brown sugar and baking powder's my additional input. you don't have to add them. )

apple crumble

1.5 cup self-raising flour
1.5 cup plain flour
1 block butter (softened at room temp)
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
pinch of cinnamon powder
5 apples (i chose granny smith)
raisins and nuts (optional)
1/2 tsp baking powder

directions:

place both flour, baking powder and white sugar into a bowl. pinch the butter into tiny pieces and rub into the flour mixture.
peel and dice apples in a bowl. add on cinnamon powder, raisins, nuts and brown sugar to the apples. mix.
line baking tray with butter. place half of flour mixture on the baking tray. place apples next. top off with the remaining half of flour mixture.
bake at 180C until golden yellow.
stuff in into your mouth with ice-cream.

delish, promise.
