some things i've learnt

eons of lightyears ago, when the world was still young and people have yet begun wondering about the amount of mercury that they are consuming with their fish, i used to think that immaturity had an inverse relationship with age.

conversations expressing disbelief over some callow behaviour of some goofball or the other would be met with statements like,"what the...? how old is she again?... ah, 18.... little wonder.".

in more recent times, when madonna had stopped belting out screechy-sounding songs and quit wearing those uncomfortable pointed metallic bras, i came to a conclusion that immaturity doesnt neccessarily wear off with age. and that sadly, plenty of adults out there continue to behave... not unlike... their 4-year old toddlers.
having said that, the reverse also holds true. 18-year olds may also possess more maturity than eligible vote-casters twice their age(a rare species, i presume, but not extinct).

it also amuses me that some people need, just need a little drama in their lives just to feel alive. however sad that may seem.
missing a step could be translated to 'a tumble, drop and roll down the Great Wall'.
a simple twist of tale with a quick roll of tongue.

but perhaps the most notable discovery that i've learnt is that jealousy, when not managed properly, can unmask its ugly green head.
a little dose of envy now and then could prove to be healthy.
but jealousy, oh my.... jealousy.
