concerning cover

Photobucket
couch cushion covers.

truth be told, the fabric was ripped off a perfectly good-looking (and brand-new!) curtain. sigh.

the sewing machine had to be dragged out, after all.
yes, i do have a sewing machine-bought by the dad for my home econs lesson lightyears ago. funny thing, cos i really hated sewing. brought over by the mum so that, " ye lah, yana boleh jahitkan baju imran, kalau-kalau tertetas......" -_-.. so seniman bujang lapok, y'all.

i am pleased with the final result, as im could have vouch, as i previewed the freshly-sewed covers on the seats and annoyingly shoved one big blue cushion to his face asking, "nice?! nice?! nice or not....?". after asking him a total of 52 times and not getting layan-ed for the previous 43 times, i started to layan myself, proclaiming myself to be a 'genius'- momentary disillusion and temporary confusion caused by an overexposure to a 'needle pulling thread'.

i am still bummed, however, with the fact that i had to sacrifice a bedroom's worth of curtains, in lovely shades that i sooo dig, that is soooo hard to find AND that came with a soooo reasonable price tag.

but a total 3 trips to cheesy people's park and even cheesier geylang, convinced me that lovely fabric comes with a hefty price tag that i'm not so crazy about.
$150/metre?! what, are you insane? i promise you, i'd rather spin the yarn myself than spend such an obscene amount of money on draperies.

and considering i'd have to part with a hundred odd $ if i were to custom-made the covers proper from the shop, and still, struggle between deciding which cover colour is less hideous (they only provide plain, muted colours), i think the sacrifice was a painful, but perhaps, neccessary one.

sigh.

well at least, i have another bedroom's worth of curtains.

... and... perhaps.... i could sew a table runner with the leftover material.... on to more madness...
